First Aid for Fainting

Image
I got a call from one of my brothers earlier on today.  He had gone to get some meds from a pharmacy and there was some drama: another patron fainted and those around started pouring water on the casualty πŸ™†‍♀️🀦‍♀️🀷‍♀️ Yesterday we had put out a post asking πŸ‘‰ would you know what to do if you were present during a medical emergency? At least my brother knew that pouring water on someone who has passed out isn't recommended at all. So he calls me for the first aid intervention for the situation.  When someone faints, they are unconscious but they're breathing. Fainting occurs as a result of inadequate blood supply to the brain. Fainting could occur as a result ofa variety of causes- tiredness, hunger, stress, pain, strenuous activities or even long periods of inactivity.  So the solution is to improve blood flow to the brain. If you are present when someone faints/slumps/passes out, first ensure they are breathing, don't allow people to crowd around the casua...

SILENT DISEASES Sssshhhhhhhh Tiptoe  No-noise zone Silent diseases are mostly killer diseases In the month of January we would be giving you the 411 on some silent diseases. You know how certain health conditions have super obvious signs snd symptoms that it's absolutely impossible to miss?  Yes, like a flu, a banging migraine, fever, malaria, the runs, a boil, Covid-19...... For Silent Diseases, they don't produce clinically obvious signs and symptoms. They could be present and you don't have the foggiest idea that there is something wrong. πŸ˜”. Those around you can't tell eitherπŸ˜”πŸ˜” They only become apparent after they have caused some level of havoc πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜” However early detection of these Silent Diseases helps with better outcomes. Routine tests, having knowledge of one's family medical history are priceless. This edition promises to be really insightful,  you don't want to snooze on this 😁 #SilentDiseases #SilentKillers #TheFABS  #TheFirstAidBoxS...

Covid-19: Be responsible and considerate

Image
Covid-19 Alert It's so easy for us to carry on like Covid-19 is totally out the doors. Simply because we don't know anyone who has suffered or died from contracting Covid-19 doesn't make it a fable. We really should take responsibility for our survival and safety, and be considerate of others. The stress of constantly wearing a facemask when in public, constantly washing our hands, trying to social distance, use of hand sanitizer...... is absolutely worth it. Those who have had to experience the nasty signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and survived it, would tell you to do all you can to stay Covid-19 free. Let's take responsibility  #covid_19  #coronavirus  #TheFABS  #TheFirstAidBoxShop  #BeFABulouS
