Image
Splinters are small, no scratch that, they are tiny pieces of wood, glass, metals or even plastic that get embedded underneath the skin. Most common of them are splinters of wood. When they make their entry, the pain could be mild to severe, so at times you may not recall how they got in. You might begin to feel some pain or discomfort if they are left unattended to. It is important to take out a splinter asap as they can cause an infection at the site that they occupy A pair of tweezers are super useful in splinter removal. These are usually available in your first aid kit.  🎯sterilize the tweezers 🎯wash the area where the splinter is embedded (ensure your hands are clean as well) 🎯if a part of the splinter is sticking out and can be easily grasped with the tweezers, then pull out the splinter in the same direction it entered the skin The tricky bit is when the splinter is completely embedded 🤦‍♀️  Taking out the splinter
