Let's briefly mention how gas is generated in the body: i) as a result of the digestion process, so it's actually a byproduct of the digestion process. ii) swallowing air from certain activities e.g. eating, drinking (especially with a straw), chewing bubble gum, smoking..... Now, it is of course perfectly normal for us let out the gas via farting or belching. Normally,we can pass out the gas up to 10 times daily, some people can do this up to 20 times even, depending on the type of foods eaten or activities done. Also certain GIT conditions make one more prone to passing out gas more frequently. Holding in gas isn't good!
