Intro to constipation

CONSTIPATION!!!

This is another quite common medical condition.

The normal frequency for bowel movements (to poo) ranges from 3 times a day to 3 times a week.
So, it's totally ok to poo just 3 times a week (as long as the poo has a normal consistency ie not too hard or too loose)

Constipation is to poo hard stool less than 3 times a week (so if you poo only once or twice a week, you are most likely constipated, especially if the poo is hard)

It's not restricted to any age bracket, however as we get older (ie older adults), it seems to occur more often, some women seem to experience it more during pregnancy. Some infants switching to formula suffer it too. Some medical conditions predisposes one to it as well. Certain lifestyle choices also puts one in the constipation vulnerability zone.
