HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR DRUGS?

The idea of being innovative is a laudable one, the idea of improvisation is cool too. I love to think myself as innovative and being able to improvise when the situation demands.. Innovation should normally “up the game”! There is a difference between being innovative and being able to improvise. No one would get an award for their ability to use a hand fan when an electric fan is standing somewhere idling away, but when you come up with an electric hand fan or an electric fan that responds to voice prompts, then you would most likely get some attention.
Now to the real gist. You tell me, how do you store your drugs?

PUTTING ON MY PHARMACIST HAT: we are required to store most drugs in “cool dry (dark) place”, now we have some few exceptions to this, when we are required to store some meds in a refrigerator. Oxygen, light and water can negatively affect certain meds. Following through on instructions gives us the expected positive and optimal results as it preserves the integrity of the drugs, prevents degradation of the active components of the drugs, and thereby ensuring drug potency.

PUTTING ON MY ADULT HAT (WITH KIDS AROUND THE HOUSE): Letting drugs lie carelessly around, especially with hyper active kids, who are at the exploring/experimental stage, poses some level of danger as they might just gobble on the drugs, thinking they are some kind of candy or drink. Hence some drug package design have covers that make it really tricky for kids to open.

Back to you. So how do you store your drugs?
Tick what applies to you-
Store drugs in a bowl on the fridge
Store drugs in a bowl on the dining table
Store dugs in the hospital or pharmacy bag
Store drugs by the bedside
Store drugs on the centre table
Store drugs in ziploc
Store drugs on the book shelf
Store drugs in the bag
Store drugs in a drug/medicine cabinet
Store drugs in a first aid box or kit

ADVANTAGES OF STORING MEDS IN DRUGS/MEDICINE CABINET
-Meds are properly stored in the right conditions (except specifically asked to store in a fridge)
-They are out of the reach of children
-When they are needed, they are easily accessed (you know just where to go to)
-Makes your space tidy, as opposed to having your meds littered around
-The FABS drugs/med cabinet add some flavour to your space

I promise you, no one is going to give you a hi –five for storing your meds in those fancy bowls.
