𝑨𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒎𝒂.......𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 411 Today is World Asthma Day and its all about raising awareness on asthma  𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 📍it is a non communicable disease (not transmissible from person to person) 📍it is a chronic disease (lasts for a long time) that affects lungs 📍not curable but can be managed to reduce and prevent asthma attacks  📍can be life threatening  📍can be triggered by smoke, allergens, intense workouts, pollutants... 𝑺𝒚𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒔 🟢breathlessness  🟢wheezing  🟢coughing  🟢feeling tightness in the chest/pressure in the chest/pain in the chest 🟢difficulty in making a full sentence  The idea behind managing asthma is to control symptoms.  𝑨𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄? 🥏know your triggers and avoid them 🥏recognize symptoms early before they worsen 🥏take your meds as prescribed  🥏carry your inhaler always  There are sad stories of people who have died as a result of an asthma attack 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒎

Salt Awareness Week 2022

Salt basically helps bring out the flavour in certain foods and it does have preservative properties  However, an excessive use of salt has dire consequences on our health. Too much salt badly affects our blood pressures and thisexposes one to stroke and heart diseases  This year the theme is " Shake the Habit". Simply put, we are being encouraged to shske of our salt habits to preserve our health  Some snacks and foods we consume are really super salted, sometimes when we eat out, the meals are super salted, some people just love to add more salts to their food!
