A recap on steps to take in helping someone suffering from alcohol intoxication 

- Obviously we can't call 911 as our EMS (Emergency Medical Service), if you are in Lagos Nigeria,  the EMS number is 767 or 112. It works. Outsude of Lagos state, then call your local EMS or get the victim to a hospital 

- If you have been present throughout the drinking session you would have info on how much alcohol has been consumed by the victim, if not tell tale signs like number of bottles present could be sufficient info to give paramedics 

- Try as much as possible to keep the victim awake if they are conscious,  this can be achieved by having a conversation with them, keep them talking 

- Never, ever leave an unconscious person alone, also monitor them to ensure they are breathing, once they sop breathing, administer CPR ( Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

- Be aware that the gag reflex of a heavily intoxicated person has been compromised, so know that there exists a risk of them choking on their own puke, so make them lie on their side if hey are breathing and unconscious 

- If they are conscious, keep them in a sitting position

GIRL RESUSCITATES HER BROTHER BY PERFORMING CPR (VIDEO)

Source: Linda Ikeji's Blog Finally, I found the video of the girl who was videoed performing CPR (Obviously this was her first time performing CPR) on her brother who had collapsed. With her mom and possibly her mom’s friend guiding her on what to do over the phone on CPR procedure. This must have been one of the most terrifying and stressful assignment for her to perform. However,it was a life and death issue. Words cannot describe how she felt doing it or was able to perform this, but she did and saved the day,an avoidable death was prevented. #AFABulouSSister!
