How to prevent mosquito bites

PREVENTING MOSQUITO BITES

As usual, prevention is better than a cure.

Mosquito bites usually occurs between dusk to dawn, as they are most active in that time frame.

Stagnant water around homes is a no-no, as mosquitoes breed in stagnant waters. Get rid of items or places that collect water, e.g. old /used tyres lying around or empty containers that retain water. Keep swimming pool water moving.

Using mosquito nets on door and window frames as well as beds, is amongst the principal ways to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

When traveling to areas that are known for certain mosquito-borne illnesses (yellow fever, malaria, zika etc.), make inquiries and take the necessary prophylactic measures.
