World Down Syndrome Day

Today is World Down's Syndrome Day.

It's a day set aside to create awareness about Down's Syndrome, people with Down's syndrome and those that work with them.

Down's Syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes developmental and intellectual delays

People with Down's syndrome have physical distinct facial appearances even right from birth

In managing it, it's important to detect it early, not ignore or live in denial. There are a number of places that are well informed on how to manage kids with Down's syndrome. They would educate on the right way and attitude in managing people living with Down's syndrome. There are therapists and special educators.

This year the theme is "We Connect So That We Can". We are encouraged to make connections with each especially with those living with Down syndrome. In our connections we can alleviate our sufferings and pains as well as understand each other.

Let's appreciate those who own organizations and those who work with people living with Down's syndrome. Let's not discriminate against those living with Down's syndrome. Every life has purpose and matters.
