Safety in First Aid Administration

Whenever first aid is being administered to a casualty, we are trying to achive 1 or 2, or even 3 of the following 👇
🎯 to preserve life
🎯 to prevent a bad situation from worsening 🎯 to promote quick recovery

The plan is not to become a casualty!
Safety is therefore a priority.

There are sad cases of people getting electrocuted while trying to rescue someone who has suffered electrocution 😔
Or trying to rescue someone that is drowning and the rescuer gets drowned as well 😔

Every time we want to administer first aid or embark on a rescue mission,  ensure the environment is safe.
Watch out for danger or potentially dangerous elements.

If possible remove the danger (e.g. turn off the mains before rescuing a victim of electrocution,); if someone has suffered a snake bite, if safe, remove the victim from the reach of a snake; if the floor is wet or slippery, be careful so you don't slip and fall etc.

Do not endanger yourself
