IIdentifying a choking individual

Choking is potentially fatal

Identifying when someone is choking is important so that appropriate help is given asap

There is a universal sign.

For an adult or child it is quite easy to spot as they would usually put up the universal sign, but for a baby, it is different 

The universal sign of choking is that the choking adult or child would clutch their throat with their hand (and have that distressed look). 

There also other signs and symptoms 🎯Inability to talk

🎯Difficulty in breathing or noisy breathing

🎯Squeaky sounds when trying to breathe

🎯Cough, which may either be weak or forceful

🎯Skin, lips and nails turning blue or dusky

🎯Skin that is flushed, then turns pale or bluish in color

🎯Loss of consciousness

Once you identify that someone is choking,  swing into action to prevent a bad situation from worsening
