Someone is unconscious? What to do

A friend was involved in a ghastly motor accident some years ago, she was unconscious.

Those that came to rescue the victims put her amongst those they supposed were dead. Fortunately, after a while she moved and someone noticed and brought the attention of others that she was still alive.

Your guess is as good as mine if she didn't move.
I shudder to think of how many people have gone to an early grave because help wasn't rendered because they were mistakenly written off as dead.

If you should happen on someone who is unconscious, whether they have obvious injuries or not, here are steps to take in assessing their status

Sometimes they are unconscious/unresponsive and breathing (they have fainted) or they are unconscious and not breathing (this doesn't mean they are dead and the situation irredeemable)

Yo check for signs of lifeπŸ‘‡

𝙇𝙀𝙀𝙠 to see if the chest rises and falls
π™‡π™žπ™¨π™©π™šπ™£ for sounds, to hear breathing
π™π™šπ™šπ™‘ for breath from nose and/or  mouth

If these are no signs of life then jump on π˜Ύπ™‹π™ mode immediately

Don't be too quick to write somebody off as dead, especially if you ain't a doctor
