Do you know how to stop a nosebleed ?
HOW TO STOP A NOSEBLEED
There is a right way to stop a nosebleed
A nosebleed like any other bleed should be stopped ASAP.
Remember that we should endeavor to avoid blood loss as much as possible.
The steps to stop a nose are pretty simple and easy to follow:
-It's best to let the casualty take a seat. If you are the one experiencing the nosebleed, take a seat
-Help or ask them to tilt their head forward or lean slightly forward. This aids the blood to flow out of the nostrils, instead of flowing through the throat and into the tummy, which could cause them to throw up
-Firmly pinch together the soft part of the nose for 10 minutes. While this is going on,they should breathe through their mouth
-The casualty shouldn't talk, swallow, spit or cough. The saliva can dribble into a handkerchief, some tissue or a container.
-If the bleeding persists after 10 minutes, pinch the soft part of the nose again. Do this for another 10 minutes. In total, the nose can be pinched for not more than 10 minutes
-Once the nosebleed stops, clean up the casualty. They should rest and not engage in any strenuous activity
So you see, easy peasy🙂
