WORLD RESTART A HEART DAY

Restart a Heart Day is annually set on October 16th and is devoted to create awareness and train people on how to restart hearts that have stopped through CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and the use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

This year the theme is: "Your two hands can save a life"

Really, all you need are your two hands. The power to preserve lives lies in them🙌.

The hands are what are used to administer CPR.

Without CPR, the chances of surviving a cardiac arrest is next to zero.

Cardiac arrest do not often occur in medical facilities 

During a cardiac arrest, every second counts

A cardiac arrest victim is unconscious and not breathing. If there is no medical intervention in about 7 minutes, then death is certain 

Restarting a heart via CPR saves lives 

Everyone can learn to restart heart

Everyone should learn CPR 

Anyone can learn CPR

Your hands (and breath) can save lives

CPR skills is not necessarily for HCP (Health Care Professionals)

Let's all learn to restart hearts, as this is a skill that can come in super handy anywhere and anytime

GIRL RESUSCITATES HER BROTHER BY PERFORMING CPR (VIDEO)

Source: Linda Ikeji's Blog Finally, I found the video of the girl who was videoed performing CPR (Obviously this was her first time performing CPR) on her brother who had collapsed. With her mom and possibly her mom’s friend guiding her on what to do over the phone on CPR procedure. This must have been one of the most terrifying and stressful assignment for her to perform. However,it was a life and death issue. Words cannot describe how she felt doing it or was able to perform this, but she did and saved the day,an avoidable death was prevented. #AFABulouSSister! She performed the hands only procedure, although she did not exactly get it done as recommended, but the outcome was good. Check CPR procedures on my blog. Be equipped with the skill and the kit!
