First Aid For Foreign Object In The Eye

FIRST AID CARE FOR FOREIGN OBJECT IN THE EYE  

Getting the foreign object out of the eye asap will help prevent infection, loss of vision and any other type of further harm.

If you are helping to get out a foreign object in someone's eye,esure your hands are freshly washed and there is sufficient lighting to help see good.

How To Check For Foreign Object(s) In The Eye👇

-Ask the casualty to sit down.
-Pull the lower lid down and ask the casualty to look up, look right and then look left, while you carefully observe the eye to identify the foreign object 
-Do the same for the upper lid.👉Pull the upper lid up and ask the casualty to look down, look right and then look left, while you carefully observe the eye to identify the foreign object 

How To Remove The Foreign Object From The Eye (once seen)👇

There are a few ways to achieve this:

-Immerse the side of the face with the affected eye in a shallow bowl of clean water, then ask them to blink several times so the foreign object can wash out

-Use an eyecup or a clean cup or glass with some clean water in it. Position the rim of the cup/eyecup/glass around the bone of the base of the eye socket of the affected eye. Ask the casualty to blink repeatedly so the foreign object can wash out

-Position the affected eye under a gentle stream of clean water from the tap or shower, while the eyelids are separated 

-Irrigate the affected eye with clean water from a jug or use sterle eyewash. Place a towel around the shoulder of the casualty to the eyewash or water

If you own a standard first aid kit/box, you are most definitely going to find some cotton buds in them. No, their inclusion in your first aid kit/box isn't to help apply or take off your make up😝 No, they're not there to "clean", poke or tickle your ears 🤦‍♀️. GIRL RESUSCITATES HER BROTHER BY PERFORMING CPR (VIDEO)

Source: Linda Ikeji's Blog Finally, I found the video of the girl who was videoed performing CPR (Obviously this was her first time performing CPR) on her brother who had collapsed. With her mom and possibly her mom’s friend guiding her on what to do over the phone on CPR procedure. This must have been one of the most terrifying and stressful assignment for her to perform. However,it was a life and death issue. Words cannot describe how she felt doing it or was able to perform this, but she did and saved the day,an avoidable death was prevented. #AFABulouSSister! She performed the hands only procedure, although she did not exactly get it done as recommended, but the outcome was good. Check CPR procedures on my blog. Be equipped with the skill and the kit!
