How does a foreign object end up in the rectum ?!

SOURCES/CAUSES:FOREIGN OBJECTS IN THE RECTUM 

Foreign objects find their way into the rectum either through the anus or through the mouth (ie swallowed).

Sometimes it is intentional, at other times, it is accidental. Most of the time it is easy to insert a foreign object into the rectum but difficult to remove. 

Here are is a group of people with incidences of foreign objects in the rectum 

- Kids:most of the time it is accidental. Kids can be mischievous! Incidences have been recorded of kids mistakenly sitting on a pencil, biro or ruler, set by other kids out of mischief. These objects sadly go through their anus and end up stuck in the rectum. 

- Psychiatric patients 

- Adults:a desire for risque sex and sexual gratification, some people insert foreign objects in their anus and push to far that they gdt stuck in the rectum.

- Adults:bodypacking occurs when people illegally try to transport weapons, drugs and illegal/hard drugs

- Medical accidents: this happen some times e.g. ehen a rectal or anal thermometer breaks inside of the rectum  or an enema tip

- Victims of torture or assault/abuse: adults and kids who have been victims of torture and abuse have had the unfortunate experience of having foreign objects inserted into their rectum and these objects getting stuck there.

- Some times food eaten get stuck in the rectum e.g. bones

Foreign objects that have been found in the rectum are very diverse and they include:

- Fruits & vegetables 
- Bottles
- Pencils & biros
- Bones (chickens & fish)
- Rulers
- Vibrators & dildos
- Candles
- Enema tips
- Thermometer 
- Surgical sponges
- Surgical thermometers 
- Toothpicks
- Tennis balls
- Packs of illegal & hard drugs
- Weapons (knives etc)
-Drain pipes
- Iron rods
- Wooden staff

The list is actually ridiculous and inexhaustible 🤦‍♀️
