Sources of foreign objects in the nose

SOURCES OF FOREIGN OBJECTS IN THE NOSE

Kids, because of their curiosity and their adventurous streak tend to put stuff in their nose.

If the object is sharp, it can cause damage to tissues in the nose.
At times, the object may block the nose.
Objects in the nose can also cause infections

Here are some items that kids commonly put in their nose:

- Small toys
- Toy parts
- Pencils, crayons and biros
- Pieces of eraser
- Pieces of paper and tissue
- Clay and play dough (used for arts and crafts)
- Food
- Buttons
- Beads
- Pebbles
- Stones
- Dirt
- Button batteries

This list isn't exhaustive of course
