When to make a hospital visit for food poisoning

WHEN TO MAKE A HOSPITAL VISIT FOR FOOD POISONING 

Food poisoning can be life threatening hence the need for advanced care is needed, even after the initial first aid administration. 

Here are the scenarios that should prompt a hospital visit:

i)When signs and symptoms worsen 28-48 hours

ii)When there is severe tummy pain 

iii)When there is muscle  weakness 

iv)Severe frequent vomiting 

v)Presence of tingling sensation in arms

vi)When there is high fever

vii)Presence of  blood,mucous in stool.Also dark stool

viii)When there is frequent loose stool (6 or more times per day)

ix)Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, decreased urination, dizziness, increase in heart rate)

x)Change in mental state

xi)Blurred vision 

xii)Weakness 

Extra attention should be given to children, the elderly, pregnant women and thise with compromised immunity as things can rapidly take a turn for the worse
