A sad case of a swarm bee stings

Some deaths are absolutely avoidable.

Stings from bees can cause an anaphylactic shock that can become fatal.

On the 11th of April  2019, i read from Premiumtimesng.com about a senior officer of the Nigeria Custom Service that was attacked while on duty by a swarm of bees, he was stung, obviously multiple times.

My strong suspicion is that he suffered an anaphylactic shock which led to his death.

Not everyone will experience an anaphylactic shock when stung by  a bee or a swarm of bees.

An anaphylactic shock is a severe form of an allergic reaction that affects the whole body and can lead to death. Venom from certain animals, some types of food, certain meds etc. can cause it.

It is important we know the signs and symptoms of anaphylactic shock so we can take the appropriate steps.

The panacea for anaphylactic shock is an epinephrine (adrenaline) auto-injector.

*Watch this space, shortly we would give you the 411 on anaphylactic shock
