Anaphylaxis

ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK- signs & symptoms

Anaphylaxis simply put is allergic reaction that is life threatening.

It can be caused by the venom injected into the victim of a sting or bite e.g sting from a bee or scorpion or bite from a snake. It can be caused by certain foods e.g peanuts, seafoods etc. Some meds can also cause anaphylaxis e.g. sulphur containing meds,  penicillin etc.

Irrespective of the source, epinephrine auto-injector saves the day.

In the picture below, we have info on the signs and symptoms of an anaphylactic shock.  If someone is stung by any stinging animal, do not waste any time to seek medical help as events can rapidly take a down turn if proper medical help isn't accessed.

However if an epinephrine auto-injector is available then it should be administered immediately.

If the victim becomes unconscious and stops breathing, immediate commence CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
