Sources of Digestive Ailments


CAUSES/SOURCES OF DIGESTIVE TRACT/GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT (GIT) AILMENTS 

This is kind of a no-brainer 🙂 

We often hear people say "you are what you eat". This is so true.🤔🙂

Most of the time, the sources of GIT related problems are as a result of what we consume-our diet. Some other time, it is as a result of the way our GIT functions or is structured. 

So, the sources of GIT issues are quite diverse. 
Aside the sources listed out in the attached poster, here are some sources of GIT ailments. 

- Eating a lot of dairy products 
- Stress
- Traveling to new places and trying out new cuisine 
- A change in our routine
- When we have nutritional deficits
- Pregnancy 
- Use of certain meds e.g. narcotic analgesics, antidepressants, iron containing meds
- Use of antacids containing calcium or aluminum.
- Low supply of certain enzymes and bile (these help with digestion of foods eaten)

Now we know some causes of digestive ailments, we now have an idea on what to avoid and what to adapt.
