Identifying hypertension

High blood pressure doesn't present noticeable symptoms

The only way to tell if your blood pressure is high is by measuring with a sphygmanometer or a blood pressure monitor. They are really handy and fairly priced.

Don't be under any illusion that your body will always alert you when your blood pressure is out of range.

So know your numbers!

If you are at risk of hypertension, then ensure you as much as possible prevent it.

When taking a reading of blood pressure, there are 2 sets of numbers.

The upper number is the systolic pressure
The lower number is the diastolic pressure

Blood pressure of 140/90mmHg or higher is considered as high blood pressure.
