VICTIMS OF INSECT THE EAR

OK, so i know a couple of victims of insect in the ear saga🤣

One of my "not so" kid brothers (Fejiro)and the other my "not so" kid cousins (Oro). Pictures of victims attached🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

So as kids, sometimes we fall asleep on one of the couches in the the living room. On one Friday night, while Fejiro was in primary school, he fell asleep on the couch and his snooze was abruptly disturbed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

He jumped up and started wailing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 grabbing his ear, in obvious distress (he says it wasn't painful). An insect had gotten itself trapped in the poor child's ear🥺

My folks who were uneducated about first aid matters🤦‍♀️🤣🤣 tried to use cotton buds, biro cover 😱😱😱🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️ to get rid of the insect, but oh well, were unsuccessful. 

They eventually made the trip to the hospital and the offending insect was finally dislodged. It was with olive oil, they  couldn't wait for the insect to suffocate, so they came home,with the head tilted and the affected ear upwards (poor child). It was the next morning that the corpse of the insect was extracted 💃💃💃💃💃

Years later, my cousin came over for a holiday. He too fell victim to another ear loving insect.🤣🤣🤣. The venue was at church, during an evening service. Thankfully the incident happened towards the end of the service. The poor child wailed again all the way home.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

When we got home, my folks tried to use hydrogen peroxide to get rid of the insect. But the first victim told them to use olive oil, cause that was what was used at the hospital. 😁 Well this was so much easier and better than with the first victim🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Glad that their eardrums were not damaged👏👏😁

First aid skills is a must have.
First aid is like a bridge between the time a casualty or patient needs medical help and when he can access professional medical help  .

What's the function of cotton buds in your first aid kit/box?

If you own a standard first aid kit/box, you are most definitely going to find some cotton buds in them. No, their inclusion in your first aid kit/box isn't to help apply or take off your make up😝 No, they're not there to "clean", poke or tickle your ears 🤦‍♀️. Putting stuff in your ears is a no-no, it poses the risk of damaging your eardrums  So what are they for?
