FIRST AID CARE FOR FOREIGN OBJECT IN THE EAR 

Most of the time, a foreign object in the ear isn't a life and death situation. However it is important to get the foreign object out as soon as possible. 

A foreign object in the ear can cause temporary difficulty in hearing, discomfort, pain and eaven an infection. So it's best that it is removed ASAP.

Sometimes dislodging the foreign object can only be done in a hospital. At other times first aid care is sufficient. 

In the poster attached are steps to take in successfully dislodging a foreign object in the ear, at home. Note that the aims are:

-to prevent injury to the ear
-to remove or kill a trapped insect
-not to cause further harm 
-to know when you can't safely dislodge the foreign object and you need professional aid
-to safely take the casualty to the hospital
