Have you tested your blood sugar level lately ?

In the early stages of diabetes or in the prediabetic stage, there are no obvious signs and symptoms, remember it's a silent disease.

It's best to routinely check your blood sugar levels, especially if you have a high risk of becoming diabetic, by conducting a blood sugar test.

A glucometer is used to test blood sugar levels, it can be done in a hospital, a laboratory or even at home.

Fasting blood sugar (FBS) test is done before you take a meal, best done in the morning (fast before the test is done, don't eat or drink at least 8 hours before the test). It is a very reliable and accurate test.

After an FBS, results are interpreted as👇

Normal range: 90-110 mg/dL
Prediabetic :110-125 mg/dL
Diabetes : >126 mg/dL

Based on the result of the test, a lifestyle modification should be made, meds or/and insulin could be prescribed.
