Osteoporosis 101

Osteoporosis is a bone disease.

It causes the bones to deteriorate, making them frail/weak, thin and brittle. They lose density. You get the picture now?
Ok, the attached picture does justice with helping to  understand what osteoporosis does to the bones.

The bones get so fragile that any little stress, fall or pressure can cause the bones to fracture. So you find out that regular activities like bending or stooping can cause fracture.

Yes, it's also a silent disease as it doesn't present with symptoms at the early stage.

You know of course the bones are the internal framework of the body, so with weak bones, a lot of activities are hampered. We need strong bones to get things done.
