Who is at risk of hepatitis ?


It's important that we have info on what poses as risks to contracting hepatitis so we can stay clear.

Here are some risk factors

- not taking the neccessary vaccines gor preventable types of hepatitis (A, B, D & E)

- consuming contamination wayer, foods or drinks (contamination could be from stool)

- unprotected sex; sex between homosexuals; multiple sex partners 

- use of equipments that are not sterilized (e.g. at the salon, tattoo parlors)

- use of contaminated needle and syringe, razors etc.

- infected mother to infant transmission 

- blood transfusions (patients)or exposure to human blood (health workers), exposure to bodily fluids 

- sharing of personal items e.g. toothbrush 

A safe and healthy lifestyle greatly reduces your risk of contracting hepatitis.
